Pediatric Physicians
Dynamic Movement Intervention is rooted in neuroscience capitalizing on neuroplasticity by creating new neural pathways and synapses through a high frequency model. DMI is a great resource for children with various diagnoses such as developmental delays, neuromuscular conditions, genetic conditions, muscle tone imbalances, etc.
Pediatric Chiropractors
DMI therapy intensives are a high frequency form of movement therapy that can help kiddos that have asymmetrical movement patterns, flexion/extension difficulty, muscle tone imbalances and hip/pelvic instability
Pediatric PT/OT/SLP
DMI offers a very neuro and biomechnical approach to pediatric therapy. Most traditional therapy can be play based which may not be the right type of input/therapy a child may need. Kiddos that may be reaching a plateau in therapy, taking a more adapt theory to therapy, or if you feel like once/twice a week frequency isn’t enough, may benefit greatly by adding DMI to their therapy team. DMI isn’t meant to replace a child’s traditional weekly therapy, it is meant to be an added tool in the child’s toolbox that then skills are reinforced in their weekly therapies
Midwives or Doulas
At Ascend, we offer early intervention therapy that can decrease the likelihood of developmental delay. By 6 weeks a baby that may have had a traumatic birth, premature delivery, or a NICU stay, is at risk of not reaching their gross motor milestones on time. If a baby is presenting with feeding difficulties, neck/head preferences, tummy time responses, resting posture looking very stiff or floppy, they may benefit greatly from an early intervention referral.
